Forward tipping dumpers are among the most accident-prone machines, with a high risk of serious injuries and fatalities. This course is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and confidence to operate the machine safely, ensuring the protection of both yourself and those around you.
The course offers two certification options, depending on your needs:
- Operating a tracked forward tipping dumper
- Operating a wheeled forward tipping dumper

Forward Tipping Dumper – Assessment Only
This assessment course has been designed to evaluate your knowledge and understanding of how to operate a forward tipping dumper safely.
The duration of the assessment will depend on the number of learners being assessed, ranging from half a day to one day.
The assessment will include a multiple-choice question paper and a practical evaluation using the machine. Topics covered in the assessment will include:
- Plant Safety and Legal Requirements
- Machine Knowledge and Work Preparation
- Safe Travel and Maneuvering
- Safe Operation of the Machine
- Securing Loads and Safe Transportation
Upon successfully meeting the required standards, you will be awarded a Certificate of Competence and a Lantra Skills ID Card for the chosen certification option.
