Ride-On Roller Training
Our Ride-On Roller Training course is designed to provide operators with the knowledge and hands-on experience required to safely and efficiently operate ride-on rollers in construction and groundwork environments. This course meets NPORS standards and supports safe site operations.
Course Duration
- Novice Operators: 2–3 days
- Experienced (Uncertified): 1–2 days
- Refresher: 1 day

Course Content
Theoretical Knowledge
- Health and safety legislation (HSAWA, PUWER, LOLER)
- Machine components, controls, and functions
- Understanding compaction principles and types of material
- Safe working practices and PPE requirements
- Daily maintenance checks and fault reporting
Practical Training
- Conducting pre-use inspections
- Starting, stopping, and maneuvering the roller
- Operating on slopes, cambers, and varying surfaces
- Compacting soil, hardcore, asphalt, or stone
- Working near excavations and other site machinery
- End-of-shift shutdown and parking procedures
