Ride-On Roller Training

Our Ride-On Roller Training course is designed to provide operators with the knowledge and hands-on experience required to safely and efficiently operate ride-on rollers in construction and groundwork environments. This course meets NPORS standards and supports safe site operations.

Course Duration
  • Novice Operators: 2–3 days
  • Experienced (Uncertified): 1–2 days
  • Refresher: 1 day

Course Content

Theoretical Knowledge

  • Health and safety legislation (HSAWA, PUWER, LOLER)
  • Machine components, controls, and functions
  • Understanding compaction principles and types of material
  • Safe working practices and PPE requirements
  • Daily maintenance checks and fault reporting

Practical Training

  • Conducting pre-use inspections
  • Starting, stopping, and maneuvering the roller
  • Operating on slopes, cambers, and varying surfaces
  • Compacting soil, hardcore, asphalt, or stone
  • Working near excavations and other site machinery
  • End-of-shift shutdown and parking procedures
