This course will assess your knowledge and ability to operate the machine safely, ensuring the protection of both yourself and those around you. You can choose from two certificate options, based on your needs: operating a tracked or wheeled machine.

This assessment course has been designed to evaluate your knowledge and understanding of safely operating a loading shovel.
The course duration will vary depending on the number of learners being assessed, ranging from half a day to one full day.
The assessment will include a multiple-choice questionnaire and a practical evaluation using the machine. The assessment topics will cover:
- Plant Safety and the Law
- Machine Knowledge and Preparation for Work
- Travelling and Manoeuvring the Machine
- Machine Operation
- Attachments
- Securing Loads and Safe Transportation
Upon successfully meeting the required standards, you will receive a certificate of competence and a Lantra skills ID card for your chosen certification option.
